The Real de Naturales Chapel is an important historical site located in the archaeological zone of Cholula, one of the oldest Pre-Columbian cities in Mexico. Built by the Spanish in 1555, this chapel is one of the few preserved examples of Spanish colonial construction in the city. The chapel features a single nave with a rear section crowned by a dome and apse. On the two sides of the chapel are two symmetrical towers on either side and the entrance is crowned by a porch. The walls of the chapel are filled with impressive frescoes, which depict the saints of the Real de Naturales, a former tributes paying organization of indigenous people, during Spanish rule. Visitors of the chapel can also admire stunning ceramic tiles and a single baroque-style altarpiece. Although photography is not allowed inside, the exterior provides for a traditional and picturesque opportunity for photos.
