Puerto de Castro Urdiales

Puerto de Castro Urdiales is a fishing port located in the coastal town of Castro-Urdiales, in the province of Cantabria, northern Spain. The port has a great marina, which offers boat trips to the nearby cliffs and islets. On the beach near the port lies a formidable defendable fortress, the Fort of San Antón built by the Spanish Military in the 16th century. The town has several interesting sights such as the Provincial Hospital, the Hermitage of San Antón and the Church of Santa María de la Asuncion, built in Romanesque style in the 12th century. In the port you'll find excellent restaurants and bars, where you can taste the local gastronomy, especially fish and seafood specialities. The harbor is a pleasant place to stroll and enjoy the view of the sea, the ships and the beautiful sunsets.
