Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo

Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo is one of the most spectacular beaches in Sesimbra, Portugal. The beach is sheltered by dramatic cliffs and is a popular spot for surfers. Aside from surfing, you can also enjoy snorkeling, sailing, and fishing here.

You can take the scenic stairs down from the top of the cliff to get to the beach and the Segunda Torre lookout point. Here, you can admire views of the sea and the surrounding area. From here, you'll have a view of the lighthouse of Sesimbra. On the coast of Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo, you can find Casa da Draga, a 16th century fortification which used to protect the area from pirates and which can now be visited. Another attraction in the area are the nearby Formosos Rock Pools, where you can swim in natural pools of crystal clear water, complete with an underwater canyon and caves.
