Point Reyes Lighthouse

Point Reyes Lighthouse is a popular attraction in Inverness, United States. Perched on the ruggedly beautiful coastal headlands of Point Reyes National Seashore, the Victorian-era lighthouse stands 295 feet above sea level, making it one of the tallest lighthouses in California. There is a museum housing artifacts that tell the story of the lighthouse keepers over the years, as well as a small gift shop. An easy 1/3-mile (1/2 km) walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse offers commanding views of the ocean and gentle rolling hills. There are distant views of Mt. Wittenberg, breasting through the coastal fog, miles away. Visitors can explore the trails in the surrounding forest, discover the interesting formations of the exposed coastal rocks, or just relax and enjoy the stunning beauty of one of California's best-known natural landmarks.
