Landwasser Viaduct

The Landwasser Viaduct is one of the most beautiful and photogenic railway bridges in Switzerland. It is located in Bergün Filisur in the canton of Graubünden and spans over the Landwasser River. The bridge consists of six arches, and the curved design of these arches gives it an almost fairy-tale like quality. The structure is made from local limestone, and was built in 1902 as part of the Rhaetian Railway line. It has since become one of Switzerland’s most iconic landmarks and is popular among tourists for its breathtaking scenery. At the highest point of the bridge, the train tracks are 65 metres above the valley below. The bridge is quite easy to access and you can experience it up close, while admiring its magnificence!
