Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is perhaps the most iconic symbol of Paris, and the most visited monument in France. Standing tall at a magnificent 324 meters (1,063 ft), the Eiffel Tower was originally built for Paris' 1889 World Fair as a temporary structure. Today, it is one of the world's most recognizable landmarks and welcomes millions of visitors each year to admire the views from its three viewing platforms. A staircase or two lifts make up the 328 steps to its highest point, the third level. From here, you can gain an incredible panoramic view of Paris with its grand monuments and grand boulevards. There are also two restaurants located at the tower - the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant, located on the second floor, and the Le Jules Verne, located on the first floor. Remember to reserve your tickets to the tower in advance, as long lines are usually expected. After sunset, the tower is illuminated with thousands of lightbulbs, presenting a romantic backdrop to the city.
