Der Steinbruch

Der Steinbruch is a peaceful nature spot in Lichtenstein, Germany. It is popular for its walking path that winds along the banks of the Koernitz River and is lined with steeply sloping forest hills. The lush green landscape is punctuated by a 165-metre high limestone quarry, which adds a unique backdrop to the wonderful landscape. Visitors can explore the nature reserve stretching 6.5 hectares and a plateau, where they can enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the region. Visitors can take a leisurely walk around the old workings of the quarry and have a picnic at a grassy spot near the lake. The area is also home to a variety of birds, animals and plants, and guests can also rent bicycles to explore the area. The forest is full of rare mushrooms and wild flowers in summertime and a few of the interesting and unusual fungi can be found here.
