Cascada del Caozo

Cascada del Caozo is a beautiful waterfall located in the province of Cáceres, in the region of Extremadura, Spain. It is considered to be one of the most impressive waterfalls in the province, as it drops over 14 meters in height, with a continuous fall into the tiny ravine of Yesero. It is easily accessible, being located only 20 km from the city of Cáceres.

The imposing landscape of the river Yesano and the impressive beauty of the surrounding oak and cork trees make Cascada del Caozo a great spot for nature photography and bird watching as well. From the top of the waterfall, one can enjoy breathtaking sceneries of the surrounding meadows and forestry. The spot is also a very popular swimming hole on hot summer days. The path to the waterfall is located in the Nature Reserve of Tejeda and Las Villuercas, and can be found at the Yesano Valley, about 3 km from a small village of San Bartolomé de Pinares. The hike down to the site takes about 15-20 minutes. The hike is relatively easy and there is nothing difficult about it.
