Butchers Creek Dam is located in Butchers Gully, New Zealand. It is a large man-made dam comprising of a main lake and four connected ponds, with a maximum lake depth of 25m. It is a popular spot for fishing, swimming, wakeboarding and other recreational activities. It also provides habitat for rare and native bird species, making it an ideal spot for birdwatchers. The best approach to Butchers Creek Dam is from Butchers Gully Road, with a public carpark nearby. The area is mainly forested, with picturesque views of the creek at certain points. With the right light and conditions, stunning photos of the dam and its surroundings can be captured.
