Basilique Sainte Clotilde

The Basilique Sainte Clotilde is one of the most popular and beautiful churches in Paris. Built between 1846-1857, it is a fantastic example of Neo-Gothic architecture. It was constructed under the direction of architect Théodore Ballu who was heavily influenced by the architecture of Jean-Baptiste Lassus. Inside the church, you will be treated to beautiful stained-glass windows, a huge organ, and highly detailed sculptures. The altarpiece, a huge painting of Jesus drawing converts, is especially stunning and a must-see. Don't forget to look up and admire the stunning rosette window just above and admire the intricate paintings in the apse. With its grand domed ceiling, and elegant white and gold décor, the Basilique Sainte Clotilde is a must-visit for anyone visiting Paris.
