The arch is made of white marble and has sculptures, reliefs and coat of arms by which various kings of Romania, who united the territories of the country, are represented. The arch is the symbol of Romania’s unification and independence and is an important landmark for both visitors and locals. The pavement, located north of the Arch, has been built in 2010 as a tribute to the historical figures who fought for the country’s independence. The pavement includes flags and representation of Romania’s coat of arms, all surrounded by lush greenery. In front of the arch, there is a large square with a beautiful view of the city.
