The Ruins

The Ruins is a former residential mansion located in Bacolod, Philippines. Built in the 1920s by a wealthy Negrense sugar baron and his wife, it has been one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. Despite the fact that the building is heavily damaged and deteriorated, remnants of its majestic past remain visible to this day. The mansion, made out of reinforced concrete, is surrounded by a walled compound with an intricately shaped garden of flowering shrubs and mature trees. The ruins are a much visited tourist spot, where visitors can discover the rustic beauty of the structures, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the captivating views of the city skyline. Visitors can also take a tour inside the mansion; providing them with a glimpse of the life and luxuries of the refugees who used to live there. The Ruins are definitely worth a visit, and a must see for tourists and photographers alike.
