Salinas de Torrevieja

Salinas de Torrevieja is a salt lake located near the city of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, near the Mediterranean Sea on the south-east coast of Spain. It is the largest salt lake in Europe. This saline lake is the most important in the Valencian Community, due to its economic and ecological importance. The lake is divided into two lagoons, the northern one being slightly saltier than the southern one. It is a paradise for bird watchers and nature lovers as it is home to more than 300 different species of birds, including flamingos and other wetland birds.
