Panthéon

The Pantheon in Paris, France, is one of the most famous monuments and tourist attractions in the city. It is located in the Latin Quarter and overlooks the River Seine. Built in 1790 as a church dedicated to Ste.Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris, it was converted into a secularmuseum in 1791. Inside the Pantheon you'll find many notable French personalities, such as Voltaire, Marie Curie, Pierre and Marie Curie, and even the airman André Citroen. The Pantheon, built in the Neoclassical style, features an impressive dome, which is a reminder of the dome of the original Roman Pantheon. It is surrounded by majestic marble steps and Corinthian columns, and is noted for its intricate interior decorations. Outside, the Pantheon also offers beautiful views of Paris, including the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and Alexandre III bridge. The Pantheon has become a popular gathering point for cultural and political events.
