Mount Yōtei

Perched high above the Niseko village, Mount Yōtei is said to be the inspiration behind the classic Japanese painting of Mount Fuji. Easily one of the most beautiful sights in the area, and sometimes referred to as 'Ezo Fuji', it can be enjoyed all year round. On a clear day, visitors can take in the stunning vista that encompasses the entire region, looking out over the picturesque countryside of Niseko. The area around the mountain is full of hiking trails, with many offering breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities for photography. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just out for a leisurely walk, the Yōtei circuit path is something that all visitors should experience. Aside from the natural beauty, there are also some historical sites nearby, such as the abandoned Shiribetsu Dam and the Hishiko Shrine.
