This memorial was opened in 1815, in honour of the Battle of Austerlitz fought on December 2 in 1805. It was designed by the renowned architect Jacob Otten Husly and is located in the middle of the former battlefield. The monument consists of a 20-metre-high pyramid of Oolitic limestone, with stairs leading to the top and a broad terrace from which visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. Inside, there are two galleries that house statues and sculptures of battle heroes. There is also a nearby museum dedicated to the Battle of Austerlitz that visitors can explore. The well-maintained gardens are an ideal spot for a peaceful stroll and make the perfect backdrop for a memorable photograph.
