Kallang River in Singapore is a picturesque waterway winding through the heart of Singapore's residential, commercial and entertainment districts. The 76km-long river was an important part of Singapore's history in its development from fishing village to modern city-state. Popular activities along the Kallang River include cruising, kayaking, walking, and cycling. Visitors can also explore the banks of the river and the adjacent territories lined with restaurants and cafes, historical sites and street markets. The river is crossed by four suspension bridges, some of which are illuminated at night, providing views of the nearby skyline.
