The bridge was completed in 1932, and is the world’s widest long-span bridge and the eighth-longest spanning-arch bridge. It stands 49 meters above the water and its length is 500 meters. It is an impressive sight, especially when lit up at night. From any angle, travelers and photographers can capture this engineering marvel in all its glory. On the western side of the bridge, there is a Pylon Lookout which provides stunning views of Sydney’s skyline, the Opera House and the harbour. Climbing to the top of the bridge is also an option, with a walkway providing visitors with a great vantage point to absorb the magnitude of the bridge.
