Gordes

Gordes is a beautiful Provencal village with a rich heritage, which is situated in the South of France, in the heart of the Vaucluse. This amphitheatre-shaped village is perched atop a rocky outcrop with an incredible view of the Calavon Valley. Known for its picturesque hillside architecture, Gordes is home to the Gorges de Régalon, a deep and impressive natural canyon.

Just 10 minutes away from Gordes and nestled in the Calavon Valley is the Punto Panoramico, a spectacular viewpoint with a jaw-dropping panoramic view of the surrounding landscape: the glaciers of the Alps and the red ochre cliffs of Roussillon, the fortified city of Simiane-la-Rotonde, and the turreted hilltop towns of Gordes, Murs and Joucas. To get there, you must take a twisting road that winds up to the edge of the mountainside, revealing breathtaking views around each bend. At Punto Panoramico, you can take in the vastness of the scenery stretching out in front of you, as well as explore the fields draped with wild lavender or bask in the pink and orange hues at sunset. There are plenty of wildlife, plants, and geological features to explore, as well. Both Gordes and Punto Panoramico are must-sees for anyone visiting the region.
