Golden Gate

Golden Gate is one of San Francisco's most iconic attractions. It is a beautiful brick-colored suspension bridge spanning 4,200 feet (1,300 m) across the San Francisco bay, connecting the city to the Marin headlands. It was built in the 1930s and is an engineering marvel, and a testament to the beauty and ingenuity of the city. On the Marin side, visitors can stroll along the paths, bike on the western span, and take in the stunning views of the castle-like tower, the seagulls, and the sea. On the San Francisco side, the view is of Alcatraz and downtown San Francisco. Here, visitors can check out the viewing plaza, take the ferry, or watch ships in the harbor.
