Eltz Castle

Eltz Castle is one of the most elegant and well-preserved castles in Germany. It is located in a beautiful forest near the village of Wierschem and is surrounded by peaceful meadows and charming hills. The castle was first built in the 12th century and has been owned continuously by the same powerful family for over 33 generations. Through the centuries, it has been altered and extended to become what it is today – a magnificent example of a medieval castle that sits atop a rocky peak. It's incredibly picturesque and a must see for anyone exploring the beauties of Germany. Inside the castle, you can explore its courtyards, towers, armories, antiques and other artifacts. The art gallery features spectacular tapestries, wood carvings, and a variety of paintings. There is also a doll museum, where you can see some of the amazing works of porcelain artist Johann Martin Preiss. On the grounds are numerous paths and trails where you can get lost in the scenic nature of the surrounding forests.
