Duomo di Bressanone

Duomo di Bressanone, also known as Bressanone Cathedral, is an ornate, baroque church located in the city of Brixen in the South Tyrol autonomous region of Italy. With its origins lying in the 8th century, it is now one of the most famous sights in the city. The building features many incredibly ornate carvings, and although it is now a Catholic church, it was originally a part of Brixen's newly-established diocese in 845 AD, when it was the center of religious services in the city. Inside, visitors can admire the baroque décor and beautiful works of art, including both a 16th century liturgical altar and an intricately-designed pulpit. There are also drawings by the famous Renaissance painter, Tintoretto, displayed in the sacristy of the cathedral.
