The Catedral Metropolitana de Buenos Aires is a beautiful Roman-style cathedral located in the heart of the capital of Argentina. Built in the 18th century, it has a solemn and grandiose interior and a striking facade. The cathedral's dome, towers, and colonnades are notable architectural highlights. Inside, one of the most eye-catching features is the shrine to the Virgen de Luján, and visitors can also explore the Crypt below the main altar. The Cathedral stands as a witness to many important events in Argentina's history and today the crypt serves as part of the National Historical Museum. Photographers will get good views from the terrace of the adjacent Government House, but the Cathedral's interior is not photogenic.
