Aconcagua is one of the most iconic mountains in Argentina, located just south of Las Cuevas in the Mendoza province. To reach the mountain, you can take a bus to Las Cuevas and then take local transportation to the located at the base of the mountain. Aconcagua is considered the highest peak of both the Andes and the Americas. In its entirety, the massif forms the border between Argentina and Chile. The summit, while difficult to ascend, has a flat-tiled landscape that allows you to capture beautiful photos of the surrounding valleys, snowcapped peaks, and towns. While ascending, there are several locations where you can take advantage of the panoramic views of the Chilean valleys and the active glaciers on the mountain. It is important that you travel with experienced mountaineering equipment and expertise.
