Museo Civico Alpino Arnaldo Tazzetti

Museo Civico Alpino Arnaldo Tazzetti is located in the heart of the Italian Alps, near Usseglio in the Piemonte region. The museum opened in 1982 and houses an impressive collection of artifacts from the Alps. It offers a comprehensive overview of the region's history, from the ancient Ligurian tribes to the 20th-century Social Republic. The museum is composed of several galleries which tell the story of the region's history, geology, agriculture, mining, hunting and skiing. Additionally, it houses a private collection of documents and photographs by Cesare Annoni, a first-hand account of life in the Alps from 1940 to 1975. The museum also has a library, with a special section dedicated to the mountaineers and climbers of the Valle d'Aosta. The museum is open to all and admission is free.
