Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh Fort is located in Jodhpur, the Blue City of India. The ancient fort was built in 1459, and stands atop a sheer 400 ft. sandstone ridge. Visitors to the fort will be awestruck at the detailed carving of the palace walls and intricate lattice windows - the Rajput architecture doesn't fail to impress! Inside the fort is the Moti Mahal or “Pearl Palace”, and the Phool Mahal or “Flower Palace”, both of which were used as royal bedrooms. At the base of the fort, visitors can explore the Jaswant Thada, a beautiful marble cenotaph/memorial that houses many royal funerary portraits.
