Holy assumption cathedral

The Holy Assumption Cathedral (also known as Tashkent Cathedral) is one of the country's largest Orthodox churches. Located in the capital city of Toshkent (Tashkent), it was built in the nineteenth century as the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky. The church overlooks a large square and hosts a striking dome and a wide bell tower. Inside, be ready to be surrounded by intricate paintings and carved gold icons. Every Sunday, it is filled with a lot of people coming to hear the holy mass held by the Metropolitan. The atmosphere is truly colorful and energizing.
