Golden Gate Bridge

The iconic Golden Gate Bridge stands proudly at the entrance of San Francisco Bay. It is one of the most photographed bridges in the world. This 1.7 miles long bridge is an Engineering marvel that was built in 1937 and connects the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. It is one of the best coastal drives in the US, as well as offering gorgeous views of the city skyline and Alcatraz Island. Visitors will find plenty of scenic lookout points, from which it is possible to take great pictures of the bridge in all its glory. Its iconic color, dubbed 'International Orange' is something really unique. During sunny days, you can also spot fog and clouds around the bridge, providing a stunning setting for the bridge's towers. If you wish to go a bit further, there are other interesting viewpoints a few miles away, some of which allow fantastic panoramic perspectives. Finally, you may also visit the Golden Gate Bridge museum located next to the visitor center where great photos can be taken.
