Arco della Pace

Arco della Pace (literally "Arch of Peace") is a great landmark of Milano. It was constructed in 1807 as a neoclassical triumphal arch. It is situated at the end of the Sempione Park, in a nice cobbled square surrounded by parks and trees. Seeing the arch with its symmetric shape and the millenary monument of the Castello Sforzesco behind it, is a magnificent scene. The intricately decorated ‘break’ on the top appears to be atypical of a neoclassical work. The arch can be visited, though not entered. It is a great spot to take photos, to remember the best moments of your stay in Milano.
